Privacy Policy

This extension does not collect, store on any server, or transmit any personal or browsing data. All test data is generated entirely in your browser.

What the extension does

ValiData generates fictional test data: Czech and Slovak birth numbers, company IDs, tax IDs, bank account numbers, IBANs, payment card numbers, SIPO numbers, EAN and EIC codes, licence plates, VINs, document numbers and fictional people. All values are computed in the browser without contacting any server.

When you pick an item from the ValiData context menu in a form field, the extension inserts the generated value into that one field. It does not read, store or send the content of the page. It only touches the page at the moment you click a menu item.

The generated data is fictional. It matches real data in format and checksum only and may coincide with a real person, company or account by chance. E-mail addresses of fictional people use the reserved example.com domain, which never receives mail.

Data storage

The extension remembers your settings: the selected country (CZ or SK), the invalid values switch, the options of each generator and the last open tab. They are stored in chrome.storage.sync, so Chrome may sync them across your devices if you have Chrome sync turned on. The settings contain nothing about you or the pages you visit.

The current fictional person is kept in chrome.storage.local on your device only, so that the fields of one form are filled with the same person. Nothing else is stored.

Third parties

The extension does not include analytics, telemetry, advertising or tracking of any kind. The popup loads its fonts (Instrument Sans and Geist Mono) from Google Fonts, so opening it sends a standard font request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Like any web request, this exposes your IP address and browser user agent to Google; no generated values or browsing data are included. See the Google Fonts privacy FAQ. The extension makes no other requests to external servers.

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

activeTab
to insert a value into the field you right-clicked, only after you click a menu item
contextMenus
to show the ValiData menu in the context menu of form fields
scripting
to run a small function that types the chosen value into the focused field
storage
to keep your settings (chrome.storage.sync) and the current fictional person (chrome.storage.local)
